Happy Friday!

I fully intended to post last night, but I got caught up in knitting Sprout and doing a few other things, so I didn’t. So here’s a wrap-up:

• Sprout’s body is now finished and I have started magic looping the first sleeve.

Yvonne told us going into Hurricane Knitters Fifth Wednesday festivities that she had some basil to share.

Tah-dah!

This is my “share.” It’s approximately 10% of what Yvonne had in the trunk of her car. I swear. I have cut off the root and put the “raw” shoots into that cup of water on my back porch. I plan to make my first attempt at pesto on Monday.

• We head for the Lake tonight. The “big party” that my parents throw every year is tomorrow, so we can’t stay home this weekend.

• There is only one tiny problem with that. I have a friend who picked this weekend to come to the ‘Burgh to do the “local vacation” thing and check out the city. So she’s staying at my house while I’m up at the Lake. Rats.

• Yesterday sucked raw eggs. I’m hoping today will be better. Yeesh.

• What happened to July? I missed it!

• The Black Socks of Doom have been finished for almost a week, but I haven’t managed to get my “model” to try them on in daylight yet, so no decent photos. (They’re too freakin’ huge for my sock blockers, so I need the human to try them on). I’ll give it another shot this weekend.

And, in other news, I’m going to sneak a mini-Yarn Pr0n Friday in here.

Despite my experience with my most recent pair of Fleece Artist socks, I just love the yarn too much to quit buying it. So meet Fleece Artist Renaissance!

As always, I get my Fleece Artist fix at The Loopy Ewe.

This skein looks like it’ll have a few “blank” areas like the Softball Socks did, but now that I know that going in, I’ll probably be more forgiving on that note. I’m thinking a second pair of Barts, but time will tell.

What Jen said -- that's some seriously yummy yarn!

Have fun at the lake, not getting kicked off the island!

Oooh! I love Fleece Artist. The texture is what sells it to me, but your right, there are often dye oddities. Part of the charm! Hope you had a great weekend and that the egg-sucking is over!

Summer is flying by too quickly for me. It's August already. I love these hot sunny days and need them to balance out the gray, cold raininess of the fall/winter. Great color of yarn. That will make some cheerful socks.

I can't wait to see your sprout!! I ended up giving mine to my SIL. I had to, she loved the buttons. And not even one measly pic to show for it.
