Soft and Snuggly

This is the third cowl I’ve knit in about six weeks, and probably my favorite.

I like my Stonehenge very much, but it’s fairly loose. This cowl is very snug and takes great advantage of a mistake rib pattern. I love mistake rib!

Size US 8.5 woman’s foot (mine) included for scale.

It’s also a very long cowl. It’s every inch of a skein of Malabrigo Twist. When I was out of yarn, it was time to stop! Actually, I guessed wrong the first time and had to un-do ¾ of the bind-off, rip out another round and start over. I finished with Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off.

It was immediately obvious that this cowl wouldn’t look good bear-modeled. But it did make a nice full-Baxter bear cosy! I’ve found myself reaching for this cowl first, and it’s very warm and comfortable. I love it!

it makes a perfect bear cozy, but looks like something ideal for east coast winters.

As funny as the modeled shot on the bear is, the cowl looks much better on you!

I've had that pattern in my Ravelry queue for ages! It's going to need some tweaking for me because at the size it's written, I wouldn't be able to get it over my giant head, plus I don't like things too close to my neck. It's mistake rib, how hard can it be to modify?

Baxter looks like he's going to be committed! Hee hee!
I like that it's snugger. I made one cowl and I HATE the way it flops around. Hello! That lets the drafts in!

Love it! Cowls are my favorite as well. Isn't that bind off wonderful to use in other things?

Love the cowl, and the yarn!

I've never made a cowl. I have never worn one and wasn't sure I'd like them. But, having said that, your blue cowl looks snuggly and warm.
