Happy New Year!

Hi there! Now do you see why I wasn’t really planning to post the Christmas in the Country cowl last week? I knew once that was up, I’d be really low on blog fodder. Sorry!

Our New Year’s was quiet. We went over to CelticQueen’s house for NYE (thanks for the invite!) and then watched sports all day January 1 (surprise!). There has been knitting …

Alexis is chugging right along. It may or may not still be a WiP by this time next week.

I’ve already started another Susan Pandorf cowl, and this one is for me! I don’t love the Lima … it’s nice enough, but it is not going to become one of my favorites. That said, it is unquestionably a perfect match for this pattern!

In other news, I’ve been reading

And shoveling snow. Lots and lots of snow.

Oh, in case you were wondering? Yes, I would still rather shovel snow than rake leaves. I’m a rebel like that.

At least the snow is light and fluffy, and your driveway isn't an ice skating rink anymore.

And I would totally rather rake leaves than shovel snow because leaves have the decency to wait a year to need raked again!

I hate raking leaves. Shoveling snow makes me feel like a kid, raking makes me feel like an adult.

We're getting a whole inch tomorrow. I can probably sweep that away.

Wow! You're a sweater machine! Maybe I need to resolve to be a faster knitter in the new year.

Love that sweater! Can't wait to see it modeled. And is that the same Lightening Thief that I saw a promo for at the beginning of Avatar?? If so can I borrow it when you're done? I was thinking the movie looked promising.

I agree about the snow. I only have to do the driveway and walk, not the whole dern yard! And it doesn't make me sneeze. :) And you get hot chocolate after.

This is definitely good shoveling snow we've been having (not that I've been shoveling!) Looks like you're going to have some more to shovel this morning!

(Side note: My word verification is "dighaul." Sounds like something you'd do with leaves and snow, doesn't it?)

Salt Wars continues here at our house, despite the major importance of not falling down this year. Today's argument "It just keeps snowing. We're wasting all of this salt! It just keeps getting covered up!" My response: "I'm sure what I'd put you through if I fell would be far more expensive than an extra bag of salt."

So I'M doing most of the shoveling and salting. Rah.
