Project Monogamy

Pretty much all of my crafty time this week has been spent on Nonpareil. Back is done. Almost halfway through the second front.

I cut the first three dishtowels off of the loom, and sadly they are NOT giftworthy. Back to the drawing board. Here’s hoping the next attempt turns out a little better!

In honor of the pathetic quantity of content, here is a gratuitous puppy photo

WiP Wednesday

We’ll take a little break from Weaving Week recap and I’ll show you what I’m currently working on!

Since I was too busy to post last week, you didn’t get to see Daybreak as it started along. Now I’m into the border section and the end is near.

As with most shawls, it looks like a blob of nothing while still on the needles. But I’m digging it.

I really wanted to get my first project on the loom as quickly as possible so I didn’t have time to forget what I was doing. So I copped out and threw another sock yarn scarf on the loom. Farmhouse Fannie’s Fingering for the warp and some JoJoLand Melody for the weft. I’m already a good chunk into it and am somewhat hopeful I can finish it today.

And since she always seems to be popular, I snapped a few pictures of my favorite puppy since she was outside while I was picture-taking this morning.

Hi, Sydney!

More of the Same

Hi there! I had planned to get a TNNA post up this week, but Monday and Tuesday both kind of went kerplooey for various and assorted reasons. So here it is on Wednesday and I’m feeding the blog during the USA-Algeria World Cup match. I blame any typos on my very split attention.

So I finished the first Softball Sock and started the second one. Currently just a few rounds away from heel turn #2

And I’m also moving along on the Baby Surprise Jacket for a store sample. I want to put more time into this, but I try to remember that since I can’t work on my socks at the store, I shouldn’t work on the BSJ during “my” time. But I still do, a little bit.

Finally, since we haven’t seen her in a while (and she was outside while I was taking WiP Wednesday photos), Sydney says hello!

April? Really?

Yeah, I missed WiP Wednesday again. Had to write for a measly salary and work some softball yesterday, so I ran out of time. But hey! I can still show you what I’m working on, right?

Pavillion is moving along nicely

I am almost to the cap shaping on the second sleeve, but this project is going to snoozeville for a little while. I’ll get back to it very soon, but I need to put it aside for a bit in order to do some gift knitting.

At Knit Night at Bloomin last week, I was bemoaning the need to knit something for my niece for her first birthday. CelticQueen said to knit some kind of a dress and Michelle pointed out a store sample of the Brittany Jumper from Minnowknits. I grabbed some sale Louet Gems light worsted and got started.

Sadly, I struggled with the join on this dress and as we were nearing the end of Hurricane Knitters last night, I realized that I had twisted the damn thing. KnitNat helped me rip the damn thing out. I re-wound the yarn when I got home and got right back to work. I’m already back to where I was when I had to rip it out and I’m nearly to the 6.5” of stockingette in the round. Hopefully I’m correct that this project will start to zoom along and I’ll be back to Pavillion in short order.

Meanwhile, my favorite four-legged neighbor is enjoying our beautiful weather

Every time I go over to visit, I get the “dead dog” impersonation so she can convey her need to have her tummy scratched. Silly dog!

Cake and Ice Cream for All!

Remember the little ball of fluff at the end of this post?

Today (Thursday) was her birthday. Happy Birthday to my favorite four-legged neighbor!

She’s officially two years told today. She’s a big girl now. Both in size and in maturity – her crate has gone away and she has free reign of the first floor of the house. It’s been great having her next door. Almost as good as having a dog of my own, but without the shedding and chewing.

Happy Birthday Sydney!
